Birkenstock

Founded in 1774 by Johann Birkenstock, the family business only began its real development a century later, in 1896, when Konrad Birkenstock designed the first contoured insole for use by shoemakers in the production of custom footwear. The brand became famous with this innovation and also became synonymous of a healthy shoe for the foot.

It’s however in 1966 that Birkenstock was internationally recognized while the USA Birkenstock branch was developed. Since the 1980s, a large part of the medical staff of German hospitals has been wearing Birkenstock. The brand however remains known for its classic sandals, whose extreme comfort has made the reputation for decades. Made in Germany.
