Blundstone

Located in Hobart, Tasmania, the company was founded in 1870 by a family of free settlers who emigrated from England to Australia. After settling in the city of Hobart in 1855 with his brother Eliza, John Blundstone worked as a coach-builder before embarking on the importation and manufacture of shoes in 1870. His eldest son, Sylvanus, joined the company In 1892 and the pair created J. Blundstone & Son, focusing on shoe manufacturing while the second son, William, supported the product import division under the banner WH Blundstone & Co. With now more than 100 years of experience and know-how, the company, having established its reputation over the years, is now one of the most recognizable footwear producers in the world.
